Another major loss for Burmese troops as armies clash
Nov 3, 2009 - A gunfight has been reported between Burmese troops and a joint column of Karen National Liberation Army and Karenni Army soldiers. The encounter took place near Hokyit, a former KA military camp in Mae Se Township on October 30, 2009 at 19:30.
Major Phone Tint, second in command of LIB no. 530 commanded the Burmese troops during the gunfight which lasted about thirty minutes.
The KNLA and KA joint forces gunned down nine Burmese men including three corporals and injured two others. No injuries were reported amongst the Karen and Karenni forces.
